The scholarship program of the Richmond Alumnae Chapter – Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is committed to offering financial support through scholarships to deserving students in the local area who aim to pursue educational goals beyond high school. In providing this assistance, the desired outcome is that students fulfill professional objectives and lead successful and independent lives.
Richmond Alumnae’s Scholarship program consists of the General Scholarship, and the Joyce C. Johnson Memorial Scholarship. Depending on available funds, several students will be awarded aGeneral Scholarship. The Joyce C. Johnson Scholarship will be awarded to one student. The amount awarded depends on funds available.
Richmond Alumnae Chapter – Delta Sigma Theta General Scholarship
The Richmond Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is excited to offer a scholarship opportunity for students residing in the Richmond Metropolitan area. The RAC-DST General Scholarship will assist with financial support to students who have demonstrated the need to pursue higher education.
Seniors representing their high schools as High Achievers in Richmond Alumnae’s High Achievers Program are encouraged to apply for the General Scholarship. All students must meet the following criteria:
Must be a graduating senior attending high school in the Richmond metro area (City of Richmond, Charles City County, Chesterfield County, Hanover County, Henrico County, and New Kent County).
Must possess a 2.75 (unweighted) grade point average.
Must plan to attend a two or four-year college/university in Fall 2023.

Annually, the Richmond Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. sponsors this scholarship in honor of our late member, Joyce Cole Johnson. Soror Johnson was a long-time educator within Richmond Public Schools and loved supporting students as they pursued their educational and career goals. Therefore, it is fitting that the JCJ Memorial Scholarship supports students who are planning to pursue studies in the field of Education. In addition to majoring in the field of Education, students must meet the following criteria:
Must be a graduating senior attending high school in the Richmond metro area (City of Richmond, Charles City County, Chesterfield County, Hanover County, Henrico County, and New Kent County).
Must possess a 2.75 (unweighted) grade point average.
Must plan to attend a two or four-year college/university in Fall 2023 and major in Education.
